What we collect

When purchasing items from our website, we will collect the following information:

  • Your name
  • Contact information, including your email address and telephone number
  • Contact information for the recipient of your purchase
  • Your ordering history
  • When registering your account, your information will be stored on our Sage Accounting system for a period of 7 years. The information we store is your account name, your name, your address, any delivery addresses store, your phone number, your email address, and your order history. This information is stored on the CMS of our website.

 

What we do with the information that we gather

All of the information which we gather is used solely to process orders placed on the website. It is not passed on to any third parties. Contact information will be stored on our Sage Payment system, for ease of re-purchase by the customer.

 

Security

  • Any credit or debit card information entered on our website are processed through and payment gateway and encrypted using a 128-bit encryption. Payments are processed through SagePay.   • We do not have access to, nor do we store any payment details on either our website or our Sage Accounting System

 

Email marketing

You have the option to opt-in to signing up for our e-newsletter.

  • First names, surnames, and Email addresses will be stored on Mailchimp, and in no other location
  • When you are signing-up to our e-newsletter, you will be added to a mailing list. E-newsletters are generally sent out on a monthly basis, with slightly increased frequency over Christmas.
  • You have the option to unsubscribe to emails at any time. Any emails sent out as email marketing give you the option to unsubscribe via a link at the bottom of the email
  • Email address are used solely by Northumberland Cheese Company, and they will not be passed on to any third parties.
  • We send out surveys from time to time using the website Survey Monkey. Please note that all responses are anonymised, and no personal data is stored on the site.

 

Other information we collect

  • Social buttons We have social buttons on our website which linked to our social platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram. When you click these links, you should be aware that you are leaving a Northumberland Cheese Company domain. These sites are likely to be collecting information about your internet activity, and it could include your activity on our website. If you would like to read more about Privacy Policies on these sites, please refer to the websites directly.
  • Email tracking. We receive data from MailChimp which tells us the click-through rate and opening rate of our e-newsletters. Only the statistics are used from MailChimp. We are notified of the email addresses which unsubscribed, but there is no further communication with those email addresses. Email notifications from MailChimp are deleted.

Our website may contain links to other websites. Please note that once you navigate to a site outside of the Northumberland Cheese Company domain, we do not have any control for the protection or the privacy of any information which you submit to these sites.

 

Controlling your personal information

  • When registering your account, your information will be stored on our Sage Accounting system for a period of 7 years.   • If you order frequently from us and would like us to store your account information for longer than 5 years, please contact us on the above email address
  • You can unsubscribe to our mailing list by following the unsubscribe link at the bottom of one of our emails, or by emailing [email protected]  You will remain on the list until you choose to unsubscribe.

Shipping And Handling

  • Despatching Orders

We despatch orders Monday to Thursday. An exception to this is on Bank Holidays where orders will be despatched on Tuesday.

  • Deliveries

We deliver on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays or Fridays, up to 10pm.

When you place your order you can select a date in the future from the drop down box for your order to be delivered.

PLEASE NOTE - we are unable to ship to outside of the United Kingdom. 

  • Courier

We send goods by overnight courier DHL to destinations in the UK mainland. However, it does take two days to reach some areas in the far north of Scotland (UK Highlands, Islands, Grampian including Aberdeen) and Northern Ireland. These areas incur an extra cost so please call the office for a quote. Some postcodes are excluded by our courier again call the office to check.

We can deliver to your home or place of work, and to the home or workplace of your relatives, friends, colleagues or business associates. Please select a delivery address where someone is likely to be in to receive the parcel. As our products are perishable, we must have an alternative delivery instruction for any private address, such as "leave in porch/on step/with a neighbour". This is particularly important if you are sending a surprise gift, but even if you are planning to be in, circumstances do change. (If no delivery instruction is added, we will specify that a parcel should be left somewhere safe and in a cool place or with a neighbour).

Our deliveries may arrived as late 10pm at peak times. Please call us on 01670 789798 if your parcel does not arrive on the expected day, so that we can locate it.

We are unable to give refunds or resend orders if the customer or recipient have rescheduled the delivery with DHL due to the nature of the product.

  • Address & postcodes

We must have a complete post code & address for every delivery address, as we deliver your parcel to the address that you provide us with when you place the order. Please double check your order confirmation to ensure that the address is correct as we are unable to rectify any errors once it has been collected by the courier. Any errors indicated after collection by the courier & once it has been delivered will result in you having to repurchase the order. Please enter a phone number for the recipient preferablly a mobile number so they can receive upto date information from the courier.   

  • To cancel an order

Orders can be cancelled up to 48 hours prior to despatch (usually the day before the requested delivery date).

  • Returns/replacements/refunds

Please note that we will only accept returns, send replacements or refund for faulty or incorrect products, we must be notified within 24 hours of receipt of the delivery if there is an issue with the order. We will normally ask for you to return the items should they be faulty. We will also ask for as much information as possible:if you received the parcel and it was damaged for example, we will request a photograph.
